Dedicated to all my Atheist friends of the world

If you are a rebel and confused about God,
Then please take my advice, and stop thinking about God.
Better start thinking about yourself, my friend.
And the same applies to me,
Cause I still don’t know much,
Do you?

I’m as confused as your are, my friend
So please excuse me for my babbling.

Without knowing ourselves,
How can we know ‘Something’
From which we all are derived?

If you are an ‘Atheist’, then
Please accept my congratulations, and
Stop arguing about God.

Perhaps for your being atheist
is the first step- In realizing the Truth.
God will never come into your proof,
No matter how hard you try,
Cause He is beyond your limited, rational proofs.

And He will always be above all those proofs.

Better start argue about
your own existence.
Be self conscious, then
the higher consciousness will follow.

By knowing our own selves,
Surely we will be able to see
the glimpse of that ever sought Light.
I wish for you my friend,
that you be among them
who have been successful in
experiencing the glimpses of that Light.

I wish you to be the Buddha,
Enlightened and Enlightening.
Whose self-consciousness merges
into Sunnyata, the Ultimate emptiness of the Cosmos.

Settle down. My dog is dying right now.

Most rock stars need to learn some self reliance anyway. It'll be good for you.

This is beautiful, and a wonderful piece of wisdom, Sadiq. I sometimes hang-out in the newsgroups, where athiests argue about God. They could use this poem.

Beloved Stacey,
May peace and blessings of Beloved be with you.

Yes i also enjoy being with the atheist. They teach me a lot about God realization.

As Khalil Gibran said,
I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to these teachers.

So am i learned a lot about God frokm Atheist and I want to be grateful to them.

It is not God I hate or don't believe in. It's these people who claim to know God, and probably think they are God themselves.
It is terrible that God the highest is being brought down to the level of fools and charlatans.
It is terrible that so much suffering in the world is caused by the practice of religion.

Beloved Anonymous,
Very well said. And its sad that because of people abuse religion, many ppl misunderstand and ignore the spirituality and our connection with God.

Ultimately that thing has lead many ppl confused and made them atheist. But we should have the correct attitude and intelligence to distiguish between wrong doing of certain people and the real teachings of religion.

May God bless everyone on this earth.

Wonderful poem and prayer-full sentiments, Eternal Brother Sadiq. You are truly a leader, and you have a very special gift as a mystic friend of all - perhaps most especially atheists.

Hello Sadiq.

You know that Sadiq in arabic means friend right?

I wanted to tell you that I came accross your blog while I was searching for a quote of Gibran Khalil Gibran, and I see you seem to be a fan of his writing.

I love his writing, he's a very wise man.

I also wanted to tell you I've read several of your writings, and I've been feeling bad tonight but when I read your blog, I felt some peace inside of me again...

So thank you. May peace fill the hearts of everyone in this world... we wouldn't have no more wars.

Liliane, A friend from Lebanon

Sadiq, have a quote:

"Just as a reservoir is of little use when the whole countryside is flooded, scriptures are of little use to the illumined man or woman, who sees the Lord everywhere." - Baghavad Gita 2:46

This is one of your older posts but it was the one I began reading you by. From my agnostic/atheistic eyes, this is the liberating thing to say, because hadn't belief be done more than talked about?

Besides, mystics of every stamp begin to sound alike when they love the divine in all the tangible ways around them. I like hearing them. Somehow I think we all do cherish the living and imminent world around us in a very similar way.

Dear Anonymous,
i am touched by the quote from Gita.

indeed the mystics transcend the limits and boundaries.

u r right, on the question,
'hadn't belief be done more than talked about?'

surely it had been like that. more talk than doing it for real.

peace and blessings be with you my dear friend. being agnostic is good, we need that vision to see things clearly.

without doubt, faith can not exist also. infact all true faith rises like a phoenix from the ashes of doubt, agnostic views.

this article reminds me, about
something. sometimes i feel, we make our sadness, as we make our hapiness. we thought if i have 1 toy, i have 1 joy. logically if i had 10 toys i had 10 joys, if 1 of my toy have broken, i have 1 sadness, if i have 10 toys then all broken, what we say about happines or sadness now? we make our happines n our sadness at once.

i have 1 toy then i have 1 joy,
if i have 10 toys then i have 10 joys..
unfortunatelly, 1 toy has broken
i have 1 sadness, oh my god! i had 10 toys now! dont tell me that lead to 10 sadness. happiness not logically, if so... that bads.
we make our happines n our sadness at once.

Dear Sadiq
I came to ur site refered by one of my friend Abdul Rahim..
And I must tell you since then I have been following it regularly...
I find peace in ur writing....may god give u strength to spread the meassage of peace.

People say happiness and sadness is a relative feeling...but then why when we pray or think / read about him we find peace...is that again a relative feeling??With whom are we comparing ourself with...??

Beautiful piece of writing. I am not against Atheists but their negative and false approach towards religion. Its better to have no approach than to have a false one and then not miss a chance to false-state it and mislead people about it when they are not even sure what it actually is. I wont call myself a PERFECT believer but I don't talk about what I am not sure about.
Well done!!!

Whether a person is an atheist or not is irrelevant, life is the path, and then again there is no path. When a person is ready they will receive more. If you’re offended by the words of atheist, you should examine yourself, and ask yourself why you feel this way.

Oh by the way Sadiq, I love your site, but I wish you would add more words of wisdom from Kabir.

Atheists are disgusted by the assertion "there is only one Source" or suggestions that "Islam is the most perfect way", as in Sadiq's latest post on the king quote from quran. Fact: you don't know, and you know you don't. There could be two, call it ma and pa, or more. Stop acting like you knoe and creating hell in the world. At least, accept "I believe for my own spiritual growth" and go your way, instead of suggesting who is wrong for what limited view -- heck, that fellow could be right for all you know. Any such suggestion, no matter how cleverly put, creates the misery in this world, NOTHING else.

Great post, Sadiq.

Reminds me of Meister Eckhart, a Christian friar in the Middle Ages who said, "Stop babbling about God," and at another time, "God, please rid me of 'God.'"

All words fail before the wonder.

Hi sadiq,
Truly I am bowled over by the extent of your knowledge about religion and god. I really feel very happy to find someone who draws quote from every religion to spread the message of peace and love, because people like you are very rare in this whole world. From what I have seen and learnt in this world, I can clearly say no religion can bless peace to the so called soul. I felt your poem to atheists is a complete surrender and your unwillingness to peek into their side. As an atheist, I am as peaceful as a believer at times when I am and I become pensive like any other believer at times of distress. But being an atheist, I spare my heart the bitterness of hatred towards people of other religion. I consider pain of every human being as mine and loss of every life as my own. I am happy being an atheist and I would love to continue being the same as you have suggested.

thank you and continue the good work.

dear anonymous friend,
thank you for your wonderful and heart warming comment and for your kind words.

the truth about people's hatred is that they can use any ideology / forum in order express their hate if they need to. example of communists killing and mass murdering those who didn't agree with them, example of nazi germany killing millions on the excuse of rare blood and so forth - there are ample examples of such. my personal thought is that if someone decide to be hateful to other, he or she can pick anything to justify the hate. it has very little to do with different religion.

religion is just one of other ten thousand excuses we create to let our ego hate another human beings for whole lot of psychological reasons.

i am deeply humbled by your comment and my best wishes be always with you, wherever you are!

some day when you find time, ponder over this human existence and ponder over the beautiful flower u may come across the street - the lily, the tulip or the rose - may that flower open you to something beyond beautiful.
